Update: State Secure Choice Retirement programs

January 24, 2019 Uncategorized

January 2019

The state Treasurers of CA, IL and OR collaborated on a joint letter to the payroll services industry to ask for support in facilitating employer responsibilities related to the state Secure Choice retirement programs.

NPRC responded, acknowledging the potential for enhanced integration of payroll, HR and benefits service providers with state retirement savings programs, and noting NPRC’s support of their efforts to broaden access to retirement savings systems. The ability to save for retirement through regular payroll deductions may be the single most important success factor in retirement preparedness. We look forward to the opportunity to discuss this further.
