The NPRC actively supports appropriate electronic filing and tax payment programs. We have worked extensively with state workforce/labor/UI agencies, the IRS and state revenue agencies, and organizations such as the National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA) and the Federation of Tax Administrators (FTA) to develop recommended standards for electronic filing that make it easier for everyone to improve existing systems and develop new systems.
Several sets of recommendations are available to interested government agencies and the public free of charge, in order to provide relevant background information and best practices related to electronic filing systems. These recommendations are intended to improve data quality and administrative efficiencies, and reduce costs and burdens associated with employer reporting. We would welcome your feedback on these documents and related issues.
